I recently participated in Art Under the Elms, an arts and crafts show associated with the Dogwood Festival here in the LC Valley. It's a beautiful time of year here in the valley and the festival takes place just as all these gorgeous dogwoods come in to bloom. It's a wonderful way to welcome in spring! I took a little time out to snap these photos to share with you all. The first photo is my booth, the next shows a grouping of these trees in a historic part of town and the last is a closeup of the dogwoods themselves.Well, I have to say that I was really looking forward to doing this show. It's a great, fun family event with lots of food, great artists and lots of activities for everyone. I was really hoping it was going to be a big money maker for me, but the jury is still out on that. Since I do mostly commissions sometimes it's hard to tell how successful an event has been right away. Sometimes it takes a few months for folks to decide just what they want.
Now that these shows are behind me I'm going to take a well deserved break and see what my next move will be. In the meantime, I'm going to try to make some time to enjoy the spectacular springtime show that God is unveiling!
